Leaves are so beautiful in the fall. But it is a very rapid, transitional beauty. For this piece varnished leaves were used. It was a hastily done mosaic since the leaves from the same tree would change so rapidly from one day to the next. This was an enjoyable project -- completely unpredictable. Unfortunately, it is also unpredictable how long the leaves will be preserved. But it was well worth the effort. The natural beauty of the leaves made them a pleasure to experiment with. Dimensions are 36 by 48 inches.
